How to use an AI image generator to create and edit pictures
A practical guide to the AI image generator in AiFevo, with prompts for style, light and shape, ready-made templates, photo editing and the uses it suits.
By AiFevo Team · · Updated

Quick answer: An AI image generator turns a written description into a picture. In AiFevo's Image Studio you describe what you want or start from a template, choose a shape such as 1:1 or 9:16, and get a picture in under a minute. You can also upload your own photo and describe the change you want.
An AI image generator turns a written description into a picture. In AiFevo’s Image Studio you describe what you want, or start from a ready-made template, choose a shape such as 1:1 or 9:16, and get a picture, usually in well under a minute. You can also upload your own photo and describe the change you want.
This guide shows how to write image prompts that get you closer with fewer tries, how templates and photo edits work, and what an AI image generator is good for, and not good for.
How Image Studio works
Image Studio sits in AiFevo’s sidebar and works like a chat: a message box at the bottom, pictures appearing above it.
- Open Image Studio.
- Describe the picture, or tap a template.
- Pick a shape from the size menu.
- Send, and wait a moment while the picture is made (usually well under a minute).
Every picture is saved to your Library, where you can view it full screen, download it, copy it or share it. If the result isn’t quite right, press Regenerate to try the same description again, or send a follow-up with what to change.
Image Studio is part of the Starter and Pro plans. The Free plan covers chat only. See pricing for details.
Writing a good image prompt
“A cat” works, but you’ll get a random cat in a random style. A useful order is subject, style, light, composition and shape.
Subject
Say what’s in the picture and what it’s doing. Be concrete.
“A ginger cat asleep on a stack of old books by a window.”
Style
Name the look you want: a photo, a watercolour, a flat illustration, a 3D render, a pencil sketch.
“…as a soft watercolour illustration with visible paper texture.”
Light and colour
Light changes the mood more than anything else. Morning sun, golden hour, neon at night, overcast and calm.
“…warm afternoon light, muted greens and browns.”
Composition
Tell it where things go and how close the “camera” is: close-up, wide shot, from above, centred with empty space on the left for text.
“…close-up, the cat on the right, plain wall on the left for a caption.”
Putting it together
“A ginger cat asleep on a stack of old books by a window, soft watercolour illustration, warm afternoon light, muted greens and browns, close-up with the cat on the right and empty space on the left.”
If a picture is close but not right, change one thing at a time (“same scene, but at night with a desk lamp”) so you can see what each change does.
Choosing a shape
Pick the shape before you send, based on where the picture will go:
| Shape | Good for |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Profile pictures, square social posts |
| 4:5 | Portrait social posts |
| 9:16 | Stories, reels covers, phone wallpapers |
| 16:9 | Video thumbnails, slides, website banners |
| 4:3 | Presentations, classic photo layouts |
Starting from a template
Not sure where to begin? An empty Image Studio opens on the Templates page: ready-made looks grouped into categories such as portraits, spaces, fashion, travel and products. Pick a card, add your photo when it asks for one, and the style is applied for you. You can also type extra details before sending if you want to steer the result.
Editing your own photo
You can also start from a picture rather than a blank page. Tap + in Image Studio and upload or take a photo, then describe the change you want:
“Replace the background with a bright, clean studio backdrop. Keep the product exactly as it is.”
“Make it look like a pencil sketch.”
Pictures you’ve already made can be edited too: open one and choose Edit, then say what to change.
Which image models are included
AiFevo includes several image models, and each has its own strengths in style and detail. At the time of writing:
- Starter includes GPT Image 2.5, GPT Image 2.5 Flare, Muse Image 1.0, FLUX.2 Klein 9B and FLUX.2 Klein 4B.
- Pro adds GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst, Gemini 3.1 Flash Image, FLUX.2 Pro and FLUX.2 Dev.
You can pick a model from the menu in Image Studio, or leave it on Auto and let AiFevo choose. Under each picture you’ll see which model made it. The models page always has the current list. If you’d like to understand how chat models differ too, read all AI models in one app.
Good uses for an AI image generator
- Social posts: a picture that matches your caption, in the right shape for each platform.
- Product shots: a clean background or a lifestyle scene for something you’ve photographed yourself.
- Thumbnails and banners: a bold 16:9 image with room for a title.
- Mood boards: several quick variations to show a client or teammate the feeling you’re after.
- Greetings and invitations: a festive picture for a birthday or holiday message.
For prompts that help with the words around your pictures, see our prompt guide for work.
What to avoid
- Don’t use them to deceive. Making realistic pictures of real people doing things they never did, or passing a made-up picture off as a real photo, can mislead and hurt people.
- Explicit or nude images are refused. AiFevo won’t make them.
- Check the details. Hands, small text and logos can come out strange. Look closely before you post.
- Respect other people’s work. Don’t try to copy a living artist’s exact work or someone else’s brand.
Frequently asked questions
Is the AI image generator free?
Image Studio is included in the Starter and Pro plans, not in the Free plan. The Free plan lets you try AiFevo’s chat with a daily message allowance and no card. You can upgrade later from inside the app when you want to make pictures.
Can I use AI pictures for my business?
AI pictures are handy for posts, products and presentations, but rules can differ by image model and by use. Before using a picture commercially, read AiFevo’s Terms of Service and check the rules of the model that made it. We can’t promise rights for every case.
Can I edit a photo I already have?
Yes. In Image Studio, tap the plus button to upload or take a photo, then describe the change you want, such as a new background or a different style. You can also open any picture you’ve made and choose Edit to change it further.
What shapes can I make?
Image Studio makes pictures in five shapes, 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 and 4:3. Pick the shape from the size menu before you send. Square suits profile pictures, tall shapes suit stories and phone screens, and wide shapes suit thumbnails and slides.
Where are my pictures saved?
Every picture you make is saved in your Library, on your account. From there you can open it full screen, download it, copy it, share it or edit it. Because it’s saved to your account, you can find it again on any device where you sign in.
